Details
We want to maximize our time with you this summer, so we have put together a full schedule; however, we do understand that playing soccer is just one aspect of your life. As such, we want to work with you if you plan to miss a week or two due to vacation. Team activities are generally in the evening. Typically we will train three days each week, with some additional classroom times as well. We will play six matches over the course of the summer.
Let us know in your application if you require a host home for the summer. Host homes would provide lodging and some meals at home, but out-of-town players should be prepared to have ample spending money for leisure activities, meals out, and travel for away matches. The club may be able to provide some paid work such as coaching at kids camps, reffing youth matches, and helping with field maintenance.
What makes our program different?
The mission of Cumbre Alta is to share the love of Christ and pursue the pinnacle of sport. Athletes are not required to share our staff's religious beliefs in order to play for this team; however, they should understand that our Christian values are a constant influence on our club programs.
Athletes joining us this summer should also understand that this team is not just meant as a soccer playing experience, but also as a sports discipleship training program. In our classroom times, not only will we discuss tactics and video analysis, but also coaching methodology and sports management, always tying in a Christian worldview. With that said, come as you are and feel free to ask questions and seek clarification!
